Hiking Trip to Suba Menagsha Forest – Over 500 years ago, Emperor Zera Yacob of Ethiopia recognized its importance and designated it as a special “crown forest.” Concerned about deforestation, the emperor took action by ordering the planting of new trees.
Today, Menagesha Suba Forest stands as Africa’s very first and oldest park, spanning an impressive 2500 hectares. Within its borders thrive precious native trees like juniper and Erica arboreal, creating a unique natural habitat. Here, you’ll also find the exclusive Minilik Bushbuck, an antelope found nowhere else.
